5 Tips to Enhance Your Winter Skin Care Routine

S&S Partners · December 29, 2016 · 6 Comments

winter skin care

We are already in the middle of winter and my skin is showing definitive signs of dryness, Hyderabad being even more dry. I thought it would be a good time to talk about winter skin care routine. So, let us start.

Winter Skin Care Tip #1 – Take Care of your exfoliation

Winters is all about more of dead and dull skin. It is time to move away from granular or physical scrubs. And, if you are a fan of sugar, I really hope you are not using the granulated one. It is just too harsh for skin. You must get the organic and least processed sugar versions even for consumption or at least powder the one in your kitchen. Or, best, pick up a few sachets of Demerara or brown sugar when you are at a coffee shop.

Another great way to exfoliate your skin is the good old OCM method. Nothing is better than oil to remove your dead skin and it is moisturizing it at the same time. Make sure you have castor oil in the mix as that is one powerful cleansing oil but way too strong to be used alone. Also, exfoliate more frequently to combat dull skin. If you have exfoliation twice a week in your winter skin care routine, make it thrice in 10 days.

Winter Skin Care Tip #2 – Moisturize in the shower or when you are slick wet

This is the season for my body butters and some of them are way too thick to spread easily on dry skin. So, what am I doing? Smoothing it out on literally wet skin. Within the shower is best but then you need to dab a bit with the towel.

4 Steps towards a Healthy Lifestyle

S&S Partners · October 12, 2016 · 2 Comments

healthy lifestyle

Are you over-weight, not leading a healthy lifestyle, hungrier than usual, grumpier, tired all the time, feel the urge to pass water every half hour. Your colleague confides he had the same symptoms and got tested positive for diabetes. You get worried, go and get screened, results are negative for every possible test you got done and you feel elated and relieved.

The lack of healthy lifestyle is making health problems more prevalent in the society. Almost 1 in 3 people suffer from obesity-related problems. 70% Indians are prone to diabetes. Cancer has become a household name. Acidity and bloating are common problems everyone is dealing with. Not all health issues can be handled only through the health insurance. Some just need healthy lifestyle.

How can you have a healthy lifestyle?

#1. Get up Early

For ages, people have been advised to rise before the crack of dawn. The circadian rhythm helps the body to perform its best. It helps reset your body clock in sync with nature.

You are more energized and enthusiastic to take on the day. Your body feels light, you get more time for yourself, and you feel happier than the days you sleep in late.

The key is to stick to this routine even on the weekends and make it an ingrained habit rather than a chore.

Knee Problems – How you are Damaging your Knees?

S&S Partners · August 5, 2016 · 1 Comment

vitamin deficiency, chronic fatigue, healthy living, knee problems

Old age is equivalent to knee problems most of the times. Mostly, it is the female population who suffer from the issue because of the excess physical strain which they undergo in their lives. Pregnancy contributes a lot to how a female ages and what problems she might suffer in the late 50’s.

In fact, it is even possible for teenagers of 15 to have conditions like arthritis which might develop into rheumatoid arthritis in the later stage of life. Not having regular physical exercise is one of the starting points of knee troubles. Let us discuss how you can take care of your knees with some basic lifestyle changes.

How are you causing your knee problems?

1. Not Controlling Your Weight

Being overweight is a bad thing not only for your heart but for your knees as well. Make sure that you do not put on unnecessary weight. Using stairs is a good exercise to lose weight and keep your knees in good condition.

But, if you suffer from knee pain, are overweight, are middle-aged (age wears off the knee tissues and puts more strain on them), exercising can be painful. In such a case, walking on plain surfaces, using treadmills or stationary bikes are great exercises. Taking care of your diet is a better way to control weight.
