I have to first say my heartiest thanks to the brand and the PR people for bearing with me for so long for blue nectar briganantadi review. It has almost been six months since I received their products for review but could not review the hair oil due to the extreme hair fall I had been facing for the past few months.
The other product I reviewed was their headache relief roll on which is amazing. And, I have all good things to say about this product as well. Before starting, I would confess that the delay in reviewing blue nectar briganantadi was due to my bad health and weakness. My hair was in a very very bad shape couple of months back and it has been getting back to normal only since December. So, now, I can review hair products again.

Packaging
Blue Nectar Briganantadi Comes in a pretty blue cardboard packaging. Environment friendly, check! The oil itself comes in a plastic bottle with a screw on lid and stopper. I wish it came in glass bottle but then handling and everything is really difficult, especially with oils. Not sure if it is travel-friendly but I doubt if the oil will leak. You can decant the oil into a smaller bottle.
Usage and Results
I have almost run through the Blue Nectar Briganantadi and have just one use left out of it. The oil is very thin and smooth in consistency unlike some carrier oils. So, I like to apply it using cotton ball to get it on my scalp. I have used the oil in all quantities – heavily oiled, lightly oiled, just a light sheen on the hair length, every way. I have kept this oil on for 30 minutes to 4 hours. It gets applied easily and spreads well on the hair.
Blue Nectar Briganantadi does not feel heavy at all sitting on your head. I do not keep my oils overnight any more since my head has become sensitive to cold and I hate the stain on my sheets and pillows. It smells like other brigandi oils only but lot less intense. Does not affect the nose at all.
Coming to its washing off, I like to wash my hair twice no matter which oil I use. Mostly, in the past two months also I have washed my hair only once a week on an average. So, washing twice is compulsory for me. Yes, this oil gets removed in two washes though I am not sure of one wash and I think that also depends on your shampoo. I am using the deFab range.
So, how is its performance? Blue Nectar Briganantadi does make a lot of claims. Hair fall, Premature Graying, Dandruff, Hair Growth and Cooling. Too many things at the same time.
So, let me start with hair fall. Well, obviously, it did not work for me but then I would not really blame an oil for it. It was an internal issue and just an oil can not control such heavy hair fall. So, may be it does control hair fall if it is due to dry scalp. Definitely, in the last two months, my hair is falling very less but then medications are also showing their effect.
I can not comment on premature graying. I did think of experimenting on Mr. P but he is hardly available at home for such things so I could not do it. But, brigandi oils have been known to prevent graying so may be it does in the longer run.
Dandruff. Again not sure. But, it does prevent dry scalp. Because, it is winters and my scalp does get dry sometimes and flakes appear. But, this time, my scalp is feeling just fine. But, one thing is that you have to take care of your scalp post wash as well to prevent the dryness. Just a drop of this oil can go a long way to do that since it is light and does not get too oily.
Hair Growth. Okay, I am not so sure if I am saying the right thing here but I think it does help in hair growth and acts pretty fast as well. Because, one thing I have noticed throughout my bad hair days was a filled up scalp. Usually, my hair fall makes me bald especially on the two sides of my forehead but this time nothing like that happened. It seems like my hair has thinned considerably but not stopped growing. So, I am not sure if it is due to this oil itself but this is an observation which I thought was important.
Cooling. Yes, all brigandi oils are cooling so beware when you keep it overnight. They really help with headaches and destressing. And, honestly, I love this range of hair oils since I used the Kama one many years before.
Now, let me talk about other things. The hair becomes super super super soft after using Blue Nectar Briganantadi. It becomes light and weightless. You just can not keep your hands off it.
No, Blue Nectar Briganantadi does not control the frizz or tangles. That is something you have to take care with your hair wash style and post wash care. Because, last week when I washed my hair, it was a mess to look at, completely frizzy and all tangled up but thankfully there was not a lot of hair fall. So, this time when I washed my hair, I made sure my conditioner was well-applied and post wash, I did use a bit oil to just coat my strands. And, less frizz and no tangles and super super soft hair which continues for a few days after wash. The curls feel more defined this way and the ends look beautiful.
Final Verdict on Blue Nectar Briganantadi Hair Oil
Finally, I would say that this is a good and light hair oil if you are looking for one. Effective as well in its own capacity. Do not expect hair products to change your hair and life. Definitely less expensive than other brands in the market. Give it a try before deciding about it.
Did you know that Blue Nectar is the ayurvedic brand launched by Blue Terra Spa? They have loads of other interesting products including the uber famous kumkumadi face oil. Would you like to give the brand a try? I have to say I loved both the products I tried so I would definitely recommend the brand to you. What do you think about Blue Nectar? And, yes, I love their blue aesthetics.

Nice and detailed review. I too used this hair oil and saw it helped in hair growth. Though being light, its not very nourishing compared to the Kama Ayurveda one…
Swati says
yeah, this one is really light. the kama one has milk blend na so that works really well in nourishing. I too love the kama one and the best part is the arya vaidya sala neelibrigandi is equally amazing with milk blend. they are really rich.

Hi..
Best Ayurvedic hair oil is Neeli bringadhi hair oil from Kottakal arya Vaidyasala. All their products are pure and authentic. If you can use them regularly it would be great, if not there are tones of other Ayurvedic options that can be easily prepared at home.
Here’s one aromatic hair oil given by an Ayurvedic physician Dr Elchuri
Aloe Vera hair oil:
Mix 250 gms of freshly extracted aloe Vera gel and 250 gms of pure coconut oil and cook on a slow flame till all the moisture evaporates and oil remains (all the bubbles must disappear). Before removing from flame add a fistful of sweet marjoram (maruvam in Telugu). Before the leaves turn black, remove from flame, filter and store.
Usage:
Oil can be used daily in small amount. The oil should be applied in warm condition to each layer of hair till it soaks into the roots.
Benefits:
Strengthens the hair roots, excess heat in scslp reduces, nerves will be cooled, dandruff will be eliminated, oiliness in head goes away, itching in head vanishes, hair fall, grey hair, bald head, aleopecia areata etc. problems will be solved.
