If you remember, I had shared with you a huge haul right after my vacation. Once I got all the amazing products and my sunscreen back into my shelf, I decided it was time enough for me to start taking care of my skin again. Honestly, since I was so excited to get so many products, I literally used everything on the shelf once a day so you would literally find a barrage of products in the ‘products used’ section. And, I would strongly urge you not to follow my example.
My Skin Type
I have combination dry skin which keeps on changing its texture depending on the climate. Also, it is more dry these days as a result of age and negligence. But, then, I have been using alcohol based toner and still my face does not feel stretchy or anything. It is really difficult to make out what my skin type is. It behaves so differently all times. I do also need to use anti-aging skin care products for my skin I guess since I am entering my 30’s now.
My Skin Condition
My skin is, thankfully, quite co-operative and does not breakout at its convenience and my inconvenience. I have always taken very good care of my skin but since my wedding two years back, I have been a little careless with my grooming routine. I have not used sunscreen since two years and I can see the effects. My skin is dark and dull and patchy all over. Also, I have been gaining and losing weight, the effects of which are quite obvious on my skin. And, entering into 30’s is also definitely taking its toll. So, overall, I need to take good care of my skin.
So, What have I Done?
First things first. Sunscreen is essential. Even when I am home. My house is extremely airy and well-ventilated so I do get a lot of sunlight in the house. And, as you would know UVA rays do penetrate the windows and doors and come inside the house with the sunlight, it is important to wear sunscreen even when at home. Of course, I do skip sometimes but it is better than not wearing at all.
Secondly, removing sunscreen is again important. I am using makeup remover instead of oils though oils have lot of benefits.
If you do have blackheads or whiteheads, I would strongly suggest you to use any oil except mineral oil to remove your sunscreen and makeup at night. It get rids of all the junk in the skin as well and makes it clear.
And, as I mentioned in a few posts back, I prefer to use something natural or gentle on my skin in the morning and not much of products either. So, let us check out what my skin care routine is.
Morning Face Routine
After brushing, I splash a lot of tap water on the face. And, then, I take bath at around 9 AM when I either use face masks or besan or something natural as a face wash. After the bath, I use a moisturiser and follow up with sunscreen. That’s it for the face.

Evening Face Routine
If I apply sunscreen, I would mostly take bath in the evenings. I remove my sunscreen and then I wash my face with the regular face wash. After that, I would apply some regular moisturiser. This is not really a daily routine but happens mostly.
Night Face Routine
Now, if I do not apply sunscreen, I rather take bath at night or even if I take bath in the evenings, I do clean my face just before going to bed and apply my night moisturiser. No, I do not wash my face but rather splash water on face if I went somewhere in the evening or use a toner to clean off my face if I stay back at home. Then, I follow with my moisturiser and eye cream which I am using these days. And, if necessary, I would apply a sleeping mask as well.
Body Care
In the morning, I prefer body oils as I need light moisturising. In the evenings or night, I go for body lotions since I need a bit heavy moisturising at that time.
And, whenever I stay home, I also use body talc. Dermicool is amazing. You feel cool cool with it π Try it out!
And, now that you know my routine, let us check out the most common products I used. I would not list everything though coz it is a long list.
