I love using a bath oil though these days I am more interested in body lotions and butters since winter needs extra care. Also, I have noticed that oil gets a little greasy on the skin and leaves a dirty layer behind which I do not like. So, I shifted to body butter. I am also planning an interesting DIY. Lets see if it comes through.
Did You Know?
A very good idea to moisturize your skin. Apply oil immediately after the shower and rub the towel lightly. And, follow with a body lotion or body butter to seal in the moisture and oil both. Takes about 5-10 minutes extra in your routine.
Bath Oil Tip No. 1 – Aromatic Baths
I love to tip the bath oils into my bath water. I do not have a tub at home and honestly think it to be a huge waste of water and a pain to clean but you can add 5-10 table spoons of oil and enjoy the soak. On the other hand, if you use bucket, add 2 table spoons of oil and enjoy the bath.
You and your bathroom would smell amazing. Acts moisturizing enough and you can just follow with a light lotion. Using a little hotter bath releases the scent better (yes, a beauty sin but lovely one nonetheless!).
Bath Oil Tip No. 2 – Facial Treat
Drop 5 drops in steaming hot water and steam your face. This relaxes your senses. And, the aromatherapy is great for you.
Bath Oil Tip No. 3 – Spa Treatment
You can have a lovely manicure or a pedicure by adding your bath oil to the hot water. It softens your cuticles and nourishes your nails and skin around it. It solves the problem of skin peel around the nails. Nails look whiter and stronger and shine with health. Same goes for feet. And, helps with cracked feet and dry skin on the feet.
Bath Oil Tip No. 4 – Perfume
Shower. Moisturize. Apply the bath oil on your pulse points and enjoy the aroma all day long. This works great for bath oils which are insanely expensive and smell amazing. You could transfer the bath oil to a roll on as well for easy application and carrying.
Bath Oil Tip No. 5 – Hair leave-on
Just like you want yourself to smell amazing, you can use it to make your hair smell great. If the oil is light enough (mostly they are), rub a drop or two between your palms and pass them through your hair length. Also, you could rub the oil in your comb (works for wooden comb) and let your hair smell great every time you comb it.
Did You Know?
Just a few days back, I read a great hair and comb care tip somewhere. In fact, I have even forgotten which oil it was but it was advised to soak the comb in that particular oil for 4-5 hours and then use the comb. A great way to transfer the oil to scalp and strands and lengthens the life of the comb as well. Also, over use, the little oil in the comb takes care of hair dryness. The only thing is you have to be careful about keeping the comb clean and also the oil which you use to soak the comb in. Using an expensive oil is also a deterrent to this tip. But, a great tip, nevertheless.

To me this contains almost no specific information on how to use bath oil. None at all for use in the shower.

hi Dale. sorry but what I wanted to convey was that how else could a bath oil be used. I understand how the title is misleading though so thank you so much for pointing it out!
