Neutrogena Extra Gentle Cleanser Product Review

I know you are getting bombarded with a load of product reviews since last week. Please bear with me since my shelf is fulllllll of soooo many of them and most of them I have totally loved!! So, today, I have this extremely expensive cleanser which gets finished in just half a month, especially if you use it like I do. But, I found it amazing for my skin. Why? Read further and you will have the answers. In the meantime, do recommend any of your favourite cleansers as well!!

I did mention that I have started using sunscreen again and as much as I love using oil to remove my sunscreen, I do like to use cleansers sometimes. The latest in cleansers is the balms which seem quite interesting and I am quite interested in trying out the one from Clinique. May be in a few months! While searching for suitable cleansers, I came across this one from Neutrogena. I have managed to empty the bottle in just 15 days which is why I said it is expensive. So, let me elaborate on why I like the product.

Shiseido Gentle Sun Protection Lotion For Face / Body spf 30 Product Review

Whenever I would ask my darling husband to go shopping back in Malaysia during our vacation, he would just postpone it to the next time. And, ultimately it was the day of our flight back home. He assured me that the airport was equipped with all kinds of duty free shops. So, I acquiesced with his opinion and decided to spend money there.

But, to my horror and his glee, we could not find even a single shop at KLIA 1. While he was snacking at Harrod’s, I slipped away to ask the passenger service desk for shopping options. They told me that it was available in the other part of the airport which was connected through a bullet train. So, without informing my completely clueless husband, I just left for the other part of the airport thinking I would be back in 15 minutes at max.

And, that was the most blissful 30-45 minutes of my life. I was literally rushing through the shops and grabbing the products on my list. Yes, I had compiled a list of products I wanted to buy, thanks to Tine’s most worthy splurges and Paris’s recommendations. And, when I was on my last item, I realized that I had exhausted all the money I had got!

Once back to my husband, I found I had to deal with something else totally than telling him that I had finished the money πŸ˜€ He was furious and had been searching for me. Just falling short of reporting a missing complaint, he had searched that part of the airport thoroughly and could not find me. He was just furious. When I think back, I secretly laugh at the entire scene which played out and I am sure he curses me to this day for putting him through it.

Worse was yet to come. Because, he had planned to buy a few of liquor bottles and I had spent all the money, poor guy was speechless when he came to know about it!! Honestly, that was when I really understood how shopping can be a therapy and addictive. The orgy continues to this day. In fact, I have started feeling very much like I think Rebecca Bloomwood, from Confessions of a Shopoholic, feels when she buys clothes. Only I like cosmetics better.

SaND for Soapaholics : Product Review

Sand for soapaholic product reviews, SaND for Soapaholics

Long back, sometime in June or July, I came across this brand. Now, the interesting fact is that this brand is the Indian equivalent of Lush. So, I decided to try it out and shopped on their website for worth of Rs 1800. The first impressions of this brand was the expense. It is so expensive and the products you get for your money would last you hardly 15 days which is quite sad!!

Anyways, I got quite a number of product though their quantities is questionable! So, let me talk about each product.

And a Bit of Tenderness Bathing Soap Bar

sand for soapaholic and a bit of tenderness bathing bar product review, SaND for Soapaholics

Price : Rs 360 for 100gms

Ingredients

Every 10gm contains Vegetable Glycerine (15.00%), Distilled Water (10.00%), Buffalo Milk (5.50%), Honey (4.80%), Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (4.72%), Jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis) Oil (2.50%), Bentonite Clay (2.00%), Colour (0.20%)

My Review

I got a 100 gms of this soap which lasted me a good 20 days with usage of two times most of the days which is pretty decent.

The texture of the soap is a bit weird. It is powdery and buttery so you would have chunks of it coming out when you try to have a bath. It does cleanse off the skin but it is not good to get rid of persistent dirt or sweat so you can use it in the morning but not evening. It is better to go for proper cleansers at that time. And, it does not get rid of oil even after double or triple cleansing.

And, does it moisturise? Well, I would say that you need to moisturise even after using the handmade soaps. They just clean your skin. Moisturization is a separate function. But, it does not leave the skin stretchy or dry. But, I am not sure how it would react in winters. My skin did feel itchy when I used it. And, a handmade soap having SLS does bother me!! But, then, I am no chemist.
