Vitamin E and Evening Primrose for Healthy Hair

Swathy · September 2, 2010 · 8 Comments

No, I am not talking of supplements. This is a little advise which I got from my hair stylist when I went for a haircut. Every time you oil your hair, pour a tablet of vitamin E oil and Evening Primrose Oil in the oil and put the container in hot water for 10-15 minutes to heat it up and then, massage the oil in your hair. It helps in prmoting hair growth and keeps your hair healthy. Another advantage of doing this is that your hair will recover from breakages it might be suffering from.

Another tip is that you can also pour contents of 5-6 vitamin E tablets in your hair conditioner as well (both leave-in and after-shampoo). This method will help your hair heal better from any dryness and split ends too.Update: An important detail which I completely forgot to mention earlier. You might also be wondering of how and which supplements to get hold of. So, I was suggested Evion (Vitamin E supplements) and Primosa (Evening Primrose supplements) and they were pretty easy to get hold of. You should be able to find them in any drug store near your house. And, Evion is just 15 Rs per strip and Primosa is a little expensive at around 100 Rs. So, I would say use Primosa tablet once a week and Evion tablets at least twice or thrice a week both in oiling and conditioners for better results.

Faster Hair Growth Recipe

Swathy · August 5, 2010 · 8 Comments

I had posted an article on hair oil which stimulates faster hair growth sometime back. Today, I would like to share yet another recipe of hair oil which also makes our hair grow fast. It is easy to make and the process is also not elaborate. The best thing about this recipe is that all ingredients are available in dry form so you can start right away without any preliminary preparations.
Ingredients:
– 1 table spoon black pepper seeds
– 1 table spoon fenugreek seeds
– 1 table spoon fennel seeds
– 1 table spoon sesame seeds (white or black)
– 1 table spoon dried ginger powder (available in general stores or you can dry a ginger root at home too)
Method:
Pour oil in a cup and place a cheese cloth in it. Place the seeds and powder in the cheese cloth and tie it on the top so that it remains in a standing position instead of dropping into the oil. Now, infuse these ingredients in the oil.
This recipe is very powerful and shows immediate results.

Essential Oils: Good or Bad

Swathy · July 11, 2010 · 9 Comments

Have you ever bought essential oils in the market? Do you know that there is an FDA regulation which allows the companies to say an essential oil is 100% pure if it has 10% pure oil in it. So, unfortunately, the essential oils available in the market are not at all pure. If you are absolutely sure of the brand you are using, then it is fine for you to use it. But, in case, you are a new user, it is better you do the brand research properly. Today, I would discuss how to create your own essential oil at home but it definitely would not be as strong as the original essential oils.
Take a transparent glass bottle with a screw top. Fill it with your favorite choice of herbs like rose petals, jasmine flowers, lavender flowers, orange peels or any other herbs you like. Fill them up to 3/4th of the glass bottle. Now, pour a base oil like almond oil, coconut oil or any other oil of your choice into the bottle up to half of the bottle. Now, close the bottle using the screw top tightly pressing the herbs in the bottle as much as you can. Put it in direct sun light for three days. Make sure the screw top is closed as tightly as possible. Keep on closing it even more tightly every day. After three days, you can strain the oil and use it anyway you want. Make sure you finish it before a week. So, make small batches every week.
You can also infuse your oils with herbs instead of going for essential oils. This way you will have pleasant smelling oils in the house and reap the benefits of the herbs along with the oils.
