Face Masks are the ultimate ways to relax. Different ones provide different benefits but I love the hydrating ones. But, one problem which I have with all the regular face mask is they need to be washed off. Mostly it gets very messy, especially when you apply it on the neck. And, this is when sheet masks come to the rescue.
Sheet Masks have been in the market for quite a long time now. Earlier I had used a few from the Korean brands available at New U. I have even forgotten the name of the brand. But, that is not the point. So, what I wanted to talk about today was if you like using sheet masks as opposed to the regular face masks.
Sheet Masks are less Messy
Cut the pack open, take out the mask and adjust it properly on the face according to the contours and you are done. Opening the sheet mask can be a little tricky sometimes if there is a lot of serum.
Once opened and adjusted on the face, you have nothing to do but lie down and enjoy. Removing them is not a pain at all. In fact, rubbing the sheet mask on the face, neck and hands after you remove it helps transfer the formula to the skin.
Sheet Masks can be kept longer
As opposed to the regular face packs, the sheet masks usually take 30 minutes to dry out completely. I love this as it gives me more time to relax. But, of course, they are equally expensive as well.
Sheet Masks can not be kept overnight
I have read at many places that actors leave hydrating sheet masks overnight on the skin but I have never understood how that is possible. First, the sheet mask would probably dry out in an hour, be it as much effective. Second, dry sheet mask would suck out the moisture back from the skin. Third, does not the mask fall down once you toss and turn?
Sheet Masks might have some extra formula which you can store
Have you ever noticed that some of the extract from the sheet masks is found in the pack. Sometimes the formula is more than enough to last as a serum for couple of nights. I found this in SKII Facial Treatment Masks. I got a bit of serum from the Innisfree Manuka Honey as well.
On a personal front, I have to confess that I never used to like the sheet masks. I never really found them to be effective. But, recently, I tried the Innisfree Manuka honey sheet mask. The quality of the mask itself was so good to make me fall in love with it. For me, the experience of having the sheet mask on the face was more enjoyable than the results. The mask is extremely hydrating. It does not do anything except hydrating the skin but love the skin afterwards. But, nothing special about it.
So, what do you say? Do you like sheet masks and prefer it over the regular face packs? I have to say that they are quite convenient before a party or an event.

I love sheet masks for hydration and moisturisation. And regular face pack for clearing skin and detoxification. I usually apply a regular face pack first, wash off and then use the sheet mask. This gives maximum benefits…

wow…that sounds like an amazing pampering and you are right actually. specially pairing sheet masks with mud masks must be really amazing for skin. I will also give it a try sometime 🙂

I haven’t experienced the world of sheet masks yet. So many people keep raving about them. I do feel that sometimes I am missing out on something but I still haven’t gotten to picking these up.
Swati says
hey Sangeeta. haha…its dicey actually. some of them are good but some of them are not worth it but no one can deny it is so easy to use. no need to wash off and all. btw, innisfree is a good place to start if you would like. i liked the quality of those sheets.

Sheet masks are less messy and all but they’re one time things and costs more than a face mask!

Hey Mariyam. So true! Sheet masks are less messy but way too expensive.
