Long long back, I had used the Nivea cleansing milk and I had really liked it. Last month, when I finished with the Neutrogena cleanser, I decided to try this out again. With a new packaging and improved ingredient list, it has come up again on the shelves. So, check out my updated review of this nivea cleansing milk. I have strike-d off the previous review but it is available for you to read. Please feel free to tell me what you think about this product.
This was another of my longing impulse buys as the packaging looked really cute to me. I have never ever used a cleansing milk before this so when I used it, I am not sure I liked it much. And, then, the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth cleanser arrived and this lay forgotten. But, I had to dig it out again after the Liz Earle sample got used up and believe me the 30ml sample did last me quiet long. Ok, may be due to the reason that I only need to take off the sunscreen!!! But, I am missing it!!! So, back to this review.
Nivea Refreshing Cleansing Milk Product Review (Buy it here)
A creamy product which spreads easily on the face and removes all traces of sunscreen. I have never used it with any kohl pencil so I can not say how well it removes waterproof products from the face. It is great at removing the foundation and tinted lip balms from the lips.
As the name suggests, it leaves the skin refreshed and hydrated. It suitsย very well. Not sure if it would be great for oily skin but I can say that the product is extremely light in texture and feels very air-y. The fragrance is just regular one associated with nivea products. Interestingly, when I was checking out my older review, I came across the ingredient list of the earlier nivea cleansing milk. You can see the difference between both of them ๐
Ok, the main disadvantage with this is that you have to wash your face and neck with a face wash or a cleanser after using this. I am not sure if you need to do that with any other. Otherwise, it is a really good cleanser. Since it is liquid, it is easily to apply and massage in without needing to add water and removes all the dirt and grime and sunscreen I have applied. It doesn’t however remove the kohl/kajal from my eyes but I have heard this is a really impossible feat for almost all cleansers. And, the cleanser doesn’t make my face dry or oily or anything of the sort. After washing the face also, my face is comfortable and not too dry or anything. It is a good cleanser and looking at the ingredient list and my love for Nivea, I would say yes!!!
How do I use it? I wet my face and neck and arms, if I have any sunscreen on them! And, smooth on the product very generously on the skin. One large dollop is enough to cover my face and neck properly. I massage the cleansing milk for 5-7 minutes and then wipe off with a face wipe or cotton or even a wash cloth. And, voila! All sunscreen gone and my face does not really need another cleanse. Though, I do like to follow up with a face wash.
Since the cleanser is inexpensive, I tend to use it pretty generously. Oh yeah, does it remove blackheads? I would say it is a non-comedogenic product and it would not remove the already existing blackheads but does not let more of them develop. That also indicates that it is a pretty good cleanser for the amount and price we pay. Easily, a bottle would last you 20-25 days, if not more!

Is it still good if you have pimples? I mean it will not aggravate the pimples, will it? And is it good for oily skin?

Hi, everyone, hello from Singapore. I am a Chinese grandma and now in my 60s. I used Nivea Cleansing Milk when I was in my twenties and thirties, and has very oily skin and the occasional pimple if I skimped on cleansing. Nivea cleansing milk does not cause pimples at all. It cleanses very well and very gently, and has a lovely delicate fragrance. I just put about a 2.5 cm diameter amount on the palm of my hand, and then gently, without tugging the skin, smooth it all over the face, not forgetting under the chin, for about 2 to 3 minutes. Then rinse off thoroughly with tap water, and follow with a gentle foaming cleansing soap. Remember, even if you have oily skin, do not use harsh cleansers or soap, as doing so will aggravate the skin and activate the oil glands even more. If you just treat your skin gently, the sebaceous glands will calm down after a few weeks. By the way, I have just purchased Nivea cleansing milk again, and I wonder why I ever stopped using it. It still works wonders, as my skin gained a new radiance after just a few days. I use it even on days when I donโt use any makeup, in the evening, to remove the oil and grime that inevitably builds up in the heat. I hope my reply helps. And thank you, Swati, for starting this lovely blog.
