Maybelline Baby Lips Candy Wow Cherry Lipbalm Product Review

Very recently, I developed a fetish for red lips. I so badly wanted to carry the boldest red available in the market and I did swipe the Mac Ruby Woo. Probably there is just too much blue which made me look more like a harlot than a girl who could carry the red. And, unfortunately, it did not survive my lunch which made me get over the fetish as soon as I jumped on it.

And, then, suddenly, I got this gem of a lip balm which fulfilled my urge for painted lips. That was Electro Pop from the Baby Lips range which gives a lovely pink shade. And, a few days later, Maybelline came up with the Candy Wow range. These lip balms come in a crayon format and their tubes are bright candy colored tubes which look pretty attractive.

The texture of the Candy Wow lip balm is soft and swipes easily on. The cherry color is a soft pink with red undertones. The balm leaves a lot of gloss which looks nice. The finish is sheer so if you want to hide your discolored lips, this might not be the best choice though you can easily layer it. The tint and the gloss do not really stay beyond an hour or two with gloss disappearing almost in a hour.

But, lip balms are mostly made to moisturize. And, the Maybelline Candy Wow succeeds in doing that. The product is moisturizing but it does not hydrate the lips. If your lips are feeling dry, drink loads of water. The softness after swiping on the balm stays on for quite long, even overnight if you apply after dinner.

I did have a problem with application though. I am used to the lip balm tubes so the crayon design became difficult to handle on the corners especially. I would always manage to color my skin around the lips but gradually I have become a little better at applying it.

I just have this much of lip balm left and my lip balms generally last ages!!

Unfortunately, I dropped the balm and the tip was broken. The inside of the balm is creamy and if broken, the product is not very easy to apply. The application becomes smudgy. So, make sure you do not drop it with the cap off. Also, the pen design makes it too long to handle as compared to the regular lip balm tubes. Also, I feel that quantity is just too less.

Overview

Description. Maybelline Candy Wow Cherry Lipbalm is a soft pink color with a lot of gloss. The lip balm comes in a crayon design. The product is moisturising but not hydrating. The softness stays on for 4-5 hours at a stretch. Reapplication is recommended if you eat or drink but lips do not get dry immediately.

Pros. Extremely moisturising and tint and color stays on for 4-5 hours at a stretch.

Cons. The pen design makes it for a difficult application, especially on the corners. If broken, the tip becomes a blob of the product which does not give a smooth application.

Price. Rs 275 for 2gms.
