Winters are almost on the door step and my skin has already started to feel the cold and chill in the air. And, my skin has also turned itchy lately. So, why is it so? Because of the lack of moisturization. Yes, if you are facing the same problem, you might want to explore more options in the moisturizer and body butter departments. For me, I would say that Nivea worked really well. Yes, the original blue tin Nivea.
If budget is not a consideration, The Body Shop body butters are pretty much famous but if you do like to keep a tab, then, Nivea or any thick lotion would do the trick. And, if you still want more, you can go for the combination of body oils followed by body lotions. The key to control itchy skin is not let it get dry and this can also be helped from the inside by feeding on nuts. This is especially useful for people living in hills.

Hi swati.i love Nivea, the blue tin one too.its very good for moisturizing elbow and knees.but i hate how it takes some rubbing to apply it on skin thoroughly.I am using a combo of sweet-almond oil and olive oil(in 25:75 ratio)as my night moisturizer, and in the morning i have very soft ans supple skin….do try it.
swati says
hey Monali 🙂 yes it does take a lot of rubbing in but it keeps my skin moisturized all time!!! yes, surely I shall try the almond and olive mixture….btw which brand do you use??? Figaro???
Monali Mishra says
No,we didn’t get the Figaro olive oil in my town,so i have to use the Bertolli olive oil.The thing i like about it is it’s 100% edible .I always use edible grade oil,be it almond or coconut or olive,as there is a less chance of other chemical mixtures in it.
swati says
yes Monali, even I prefer edible oils as their processing is a little better than cosmetic oils in which there are more chances of mixing inferior oils 🙂

hi my problem is my nose gets itchy sometimes and it irritates me alot. is it for dryness or is it due to allergy?
Swati Murti says
you can try applying moisturizer. but, don’t know if it gets itchy just due to dryness. it may be some allergy or long exposure to dust.
