If you are a regular reader on the blog, you would know that I am a die-hard fan of Garnier Pore Unclogging face wash even though it has SLS. On my last trip to the supermarket, I was searching for another face wash which my skin would love and I picked up this Pure Active Neem one thinking it would be just the same and more over it was in a buy 2 get 1 offer. Bad idea to buy things for the first time in such offers!!
Anyways, needless to say the product disappointed me a lot. Why? Let us check out.
Garnier Pure Active Real Neem Face Wash Product Review
- Price : Rs 90 for 100gms
- Availability : at all the supermarkets and online shopping sites
- Packaging : travel-friendly like all the tube face washes.
- Texture : gel face wash, green in color and needs a bit of water to wash off as it leaves a slimy feel after washing the face.
- Ingredients : It does have SLS, salicylic acid and sodium benzoate instead of parabens as preservatives.
Usage and Results
I love using face washes as body wash as well when I am travelling as it saves a lot of space and is easy to carry. Thus, I got this product in bulk as I do have a lot of travel plans ahead. And, btw, my travel plan also includes a night stay at my in-laws place in the same city. I always prefer to carry my stuff. Do you do that as well?
So, as I mentioned above, the product leaves a slimy feel after washing off which I absolutely hate. That was a big con for me. Then, gradually, I realized that it was harsh for my skin (?). It would not make my skin dry and stretchy immediately but it slowly acts up on the skin on regular usage. I developed small pimples near my lips area which always happens with me if my skin gets extremely dry.
And, then, slowly my skin started to feel a lot older. I am not sure if it was this product or anything else like weather but I did not change any other product in my skin care routine so it has to be the face wash. I used this face wash on and off for few days and I could still see the difference. That was when I decided to let go of the product rather than ruin my skin. And, now, I am testing out another face wash which I am kinda excited about. Details coming soon 🙂

My Verdict
That was my story with this face wash. And, I am not sure if I would recommend it to anyone. Btw, I am urging Mr. P to try this face wash and see if it works for him. I shall definitely use it a bit more and see if my opinion changes. If it does, I shall definitely update the review 🙂

Sad that it didn’t work… Even I have observed certain products tend to make my face look older while some make the face plumper and younger. Don’t know how that happens… Especially some harsh face packs though they instantly remove tan and brighten up face, they also instantly make face appear older… lol.. Even while I make face packs at home, I especially stay away from multani mitti and lemon juice though I read a lot about their benefits online, they don’t work for me…

I haven’t tried it, but I certainly won’t now! Thanks for the review. I too have been sucked in by those bulk buy deals and have ended up with products I don’t like. I usually end up re-purposing them (like you mentioned, use face wash as a body wash!). If I buy a conditioner I really really don’t like, it’ll end up being used as a “shaving cream” for my legs 😛
