Fitness Diaries : How to Start?

Whew! Turning 30 is not really exciting at the level of your body and if you are unfit, this is probably going to be really hard. When your body feels tired and lazy all the time, it is time for you to wake up and realize lying around is not going to help you. And, the first step towards a healthy life is to self-motivate.

How do you really convince yourself to be fit and follow a healthy regimen including daily exercise and a balanced diet? Note that I say balanced and not strict diet. And, daily exercise can be anything from simple breathing exercises to high intensity workouts. But, anything would start with a first simple step.

For me, the biggest problem is self-motivation. I think most of the populace suffers from the same. So, let me put down a few things which I have been following for the last month. Starting off!

Do NOT Stock Your House with Junk

Like butter, chips, cheese, biscuits and all other junk foods which you are most likely to pick up when you are feeling hungry. I have stopped buying tea and coffee as well. Remember, I am off the caffeine right now?

PREPARE your Meals

Okay, not exactly my forte but I do it a few times. As a rule, I am a eat-out-of-box addict. It is quite tempting to pick up the mobile and just order away. But, this is a bad idea, not only for your stomach but also for your pocket!

Honestly, my suggestion would be to make some meal once a day and eat it across if you are lazy. I know this sounds boring but way better than ordering. Also, check out a few one pot meals which do not need much time and energy.

Following a Routine

Apart from meals, it is important to have a routine. When you sleep, when you wakeup, when you have your food, when you go for your walk are all important. So, start with sleeping and waking up at the same time every single day including the weekends.

Btw, did you know women need more sleep!

Am I doing this yet? Hell no! My sleeping times are often disturbed by Mr. P’s office timings. But, my wake up times are often dictated by my maid’s arrival. These days I had been getting up between 7:30 – 8:00. Hope I can make it early.

Activity Classes

If you are low on motivation just like me, it is best to join some activity. Dance, yoga, gym, aerobics, take your pick! I am right now going to the yoga classes and not really loving it but still scraping and sweating through it!!

So, what do you do for your fitness? Eat healthy, exercise, indulge, diet, what is your choice?
