#HappyHairChallenge with Garnier Update II {Hair Care}

Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Shampoo Conditioner Product Review

Huh…I should have posted this at the end of February but with shifting to wordpress and Mr. P’s sprained leg and a family function, I just could not find time for this post.

So, let me start by saying – this is definitely one of the product ranges which can be given a try. I have successfully completed one month of #HappyHairChallenge without finishing either the shampoo and conditioner and, considering they are over the counter products, they are not really expensive.

One peeve which I had with this range was that they could have come up with an intensive hair treatment or hair mask as well since it is meant for dry and damaged hair. It would have been SO helpful. So, lets see what I have to say about the product overall.

Specification First

  • Price: Rs 135
  • Availability: All super markets + Online websites
  • Packaging: Yellow color adds a pop to your bathroom. Travel-friendly.
  • Smell: It smells decent. Nothing strong or over-powering.
  • Texture: Both shampoo and conditioner are creamy in texture and spread easily on hair.
  • Contains SLS

Usage and Results

One dollop of shampoo is enough for two washes of my hair. It lathers well even in very small quantities and removes oil from even oil-dripping hair.

The conditioner is creamy and spreads easily on the hair length. And, also washes off easily.

The combo leaves the hair feeling healthy and nourished. But, the results wears off after a day or two. And, the hair does get a lot softer and tangle-free. It might be able to control moderate amount of frizz but a leave-in treatment is extremely necessary to protect the ends of the hair.

Overall Verdict

One of the decent shampoos which can be given a try. As I said, if they had come up with a intensive hair mask treatment, it would have been an added bonus to use!

What do you say?

L’Oreal Paris Skin Perfect Cream for 30+ {Product Review}

Swathy · February 15, 2015 · 10 Comments

L'Oreal Paris Skin Perfect Cream for 30+ Product Review

Few days back, I had asked you to guess the products. And, yes, you were right. The range is L’Oreal Paris Skin Perfect which has come up with different solutions for different ages.

Now that you might have also seen the ads on the television, I can share with you my experience with the product! Since I touched 29 this month itself, I was quite confused as to which age range should I pick up. And, then, I settled for 30+ as my skin was getting too dry due to the winters.

And, then, finally Mr. P settled to feel younger by choosing the 20+ range and I settled for the 30+ considering the winter wreaking havoc on my skin. After all the anti-aging range is more moisturising.

Update: Btw, I was not aware that it is a women-specific range before sharing it with my better half! So, beware all the gals before you recommend it to your sweethearts and better-halves. Also, please do check out how does men’s skin differ from women.

Specifications First

  • Price: Starting at Rs 99
  • Availability: L’Oreal Paris outlets and kiosks.
  • Packaging: The cream comes in a wide-mouthed glass jar but the white really falls flat. A pop of color would have brought elegance to the packaging.
  • Fragrance: My pet peeve of strong smelling products still holds. The fragrance of the product is not really strong but stays a long time so it does effect one who has a sensitive nose. But, it might prove to be quite pleasant for some.
  • Texture: The cream is creamy in consistency and not really thick. Spreads easily.

Skin Perfect Range Claims

Usage and Results

As 30+ product claims, it does give smoother and brighter skin.

But, there is one issue with the product! The application. Though the texture of the product is creamy and easily spread-able, it does not blend well into the skin. In fact, I could not figure out how to easily blend it. So, one has to be able to use the product very judicially.

Only pea size dot is enough to cover the face and another for the neck. Anything more leaves white streaks on the skin. And, I do not think it blends well on damp skin so make sure your skin is dry. And, same is the case if you are trying to layer this product with any other.

On the positive note, I have to say that it controls the oil very well. In fact, as I mentioned earlier, I settled for the 30+ also because I felt 20+ range to be a bit dry for my skin so may be you need different formulations for different weather conditions. And, the effects of the cream last up to 2 hours easily. I would definitely suggest to reapply your moisturising cream after a duration to maintain hydration levels in your skin.

As to its claims on spot reductions, I can not really say anything as I do not have such issues!

My Verdict

Finally, I would like to say that it is a good cream and I am sure it will be a savior in the summers.

So, it is a yes if you really want soft and smoother and brighter skin instantly. And, Mr. P totally endorses it 😀

So, what do you say? Would you love to check out the product? Have you already used or bought it ? How did you like it? Do share!

Forest Essentials Soundarya Advanced Serum for anti-aging skin care Product Review

Lets not call this a review because it has been almost a year since I have finished the product! I was looking through the blog photographs for product reviews when I came across these snaps. Since I have never seen any review of this product, I thought I would at least do a quickie mention of it.

This is the most expensive product I have bought till date and that was only because it was my wedding and I could indulge in a bit of luxury. I always had an eye on this product. Well, it says it has gold so who will not be interested, right?
And, did I receive any compliments when I used it? I guess yes when I had just started using it but then I was drinking coconut water also that time 😀 Now, did the gold in the product do anything for my skin? Well, I am really not sure about that neither do I think the gold displayed any anti-aging properties!

Ingredients

Forest Essentials Soundarya Advanced Serum for anti-aging skin care Product Review

The pic is a little darker so here is the transcript!

Cold Pressed Sesame Oil (40%), Clarified Ghee (18%), Sweet Almond Oil (16%), Cow’s Milk (9.2%), Liquorice (4%), Shirish (3%), Vansh (3%), Turmeric (2%), Saffron (1.5%), Sandalwood Essential Oil (1%), Ashwagandha (1%), Methi (1%), 24 Karat Gold Bhasma (0.3%)

  • Price: Rs 2750 for 25ml (very expensive!)
  • Availability: Online on various websites, Forest Essentials Stores and Outlets
  • Packaging: Very elegant but actually it is plastic. I would have preferred a glass packaging.
  • Fragrance: Had the fragrance of the product bothered me, I would have surely remembered it! So, I guess it might have been fine.
  • Texture: As you can see in the pic, the serum is not really dense. It does not leave behind that oily feeling.

Usage and Results

Now I do not really remember all the details.
One to two pumps of the product is enough to cover the face and neck. Because of the expense, you would obviously be judicious in using the product. Also, any more can get oily, depending on your skin type! I do not remember whether it is enough to moisturise your skin.
The results are not visible immediately but yes the skin gets plumper. The effects on the aging lines and fine lines might take sometime to show. My skin did look glowing in the initial days of using the product but I am not very sure how long it lasted though!

My Verdict

What I remember thinking was that it is more of a luxurious buy. But, honestly said, that would not deter me from buying the product again, if I have the dough to spare. For now, I am contending myself by finishing the products in my over-flowing shelf!

Have you used this product? How did you like it? Does the gold in the serum sound interesting to you? Would you like to try the product? Do share your views in the comments below!
