Sephora Hand Mask Gloves – Aloevera

Swathy · June 4, 2019 · 1 Comment

sephora aloevera hand mask, sephora hand gloves, moisturizing gloves

Last week has been real crazy with my brother’s wedding, hence the missing posts! So, while shopping for the wedding, I visited Sephora for first time in Hyderabad. Their overnight hair mask was the one which interested me and I picked these sephora hand mask gloves along. You might have heard me cribbing about my extremely cracked and damaged skin on the fingers. I thought may be some moisturizing gloves might be helpful.

Sephora Hand Mask Gloves infused with Aloevera Product Review

Price : Rs 450 for one pair

Availability : Sephora shops and Sephora online

My Review

Well, the first thing I thought about this product was “damn! it’s really expensive”. Who wants to buy a one time use mask for 400 bucks? Anyways, I got the sephora hand mask gloves and the overnight hair mask, though in retrospect buying another pair of gloves would have been a better use for my money.

The pouch contains a pair of sephora hand mask gloves and there is no serum in the pouch as you would find in a face mask. The serum is present inside the gloves. You just have to put them on your hands and sit. The product specifies 20 minutes but I would recommend as long as possible though it does get tiring!

When you put on the sephora hand mask gloves, you would feel nothing actually but then about 2-4 minutes later, you can feel the serum around your fingers. I initially thought the quantity of the serum was very less but I do not think that is strictly true! The serum probably melts with your body heat or something like that.

I kept on the hand mask gloves for probably 30 minutes and there was still a lot of serum left inside so I passed on the gloves to my husband. He kept it on for probably 10 minutes and still there was a little bit of the serum left. I decided to store the gloves for another use, just in case. After removing the gloves, I massaged in whatever serum was on my hand.

My hands were really moisturized, my cuticles looked amazing, the cracks on the skin had softened to touch and they looked brighter. Actually, my hands look a lot dull and dark, probably from the lack of hydration rather than moisturization. And, the sephora hand mask gloves really brightened them. Same goes for my husband who does not use anything at all on his skin.

And, just today, I put the gloves on just for 5 minutes to see if there was any serum left. It is almost over, might last for one more use of 5 minutes. My hands looked instantly brighter, cuticles were moisturized and nails were shinier. Boy, they are amazing for a quick pickup. In fact, instead of keeping them for 15 minutes at one go, you can get multiple uses of 5 minutes each.

Overall, I think sephora hand mask gloves are an amazing product if you do not get regular manicures and your hands just never look pretty. Yes, it is expensive but if I am planning to use it once a week for 5 minutes, I guess it will last me almost one and a half month which is a little less expensive, let’s say! But, yes, you should definitely try it out.

Have you used any hand mask gloves?

They have them in different variants. Have you tried out any? Avocado sounds interesting since it is heavy on nourishment. I shall definitely try them out when I am in a mood to splurge. In the mean time, you could ask someone to get them from US at 5$ a piece. Which variant is your favorite?

Till then, Swathy.

How to protect your Skin and Hair during Holi?

Wow! We are already celebrating holi in 2019. How fast does time move? Now a days, organic colors have become a little more common and everyone is concerned about putting unnecessary chemicals on their skin. Kudos to us! But, we are not yet rid of the chemically synthesized colors completely yet. So, you have to take precautions so that the color does not touch your skin and does not affect it.

How to protect your Skin and Hair in Holi?

Getting ready to play

Wear a high factor water proof sunscreen on every part of your body which is exposed. Apply it in a thicker layer than usual. Wear white clothes so as to deflect sun rays. Do not forget your forearms, hands, feet and back of the ears while applying sunscreen.

If possible, follow up with a light layer of body oil, preferably almond or coconut oil, over the top of sunscreen. They make a film on your skin and protect direct contact from colors. Sesame Oil also provides an added sun protection as it is a natural sun blocker. Protect your lips, nails and cuticles as well.

A leave-in conditioner or a serum will protect your hair from absorbing any colors.

Observe these precautions while playing with colors

Protect your eyes with sun glasses. It would be advised not to wear contacts as they may come out when playing with water or if someone accidentally pokes you in the eyes. Glasses are better. If any color enters your eyes, wash them with cold water repeatedly.

Go for organic or homemade colors instead of the synthetic ones. They are also good for the environment.

Playing environment conscious holi is a way to save water. Play with dry colors and encourage everyone to do the same.

How to wash off after playing with colors?

If you have put on sunscreen or makeup, use a cleansing milk or cleansing balm. Most of your color should come off right then. Clean your lips as well.

Brush your teeth once just in case you accidentally got color there. It does happen!

Wash off the dry color with cool or room temperature water. Do not use hot or lukewarm water as it takes more time to wash off.

Use a gentle soap and do not be harsh on your skin. Try to remove as much color as possible but do not scrub your skin too harshly. In case the color is not getting off, let it be.

Wash off your hair with a clarifying shampoo to remove buildup. Condition it with a hair mask for 10-20 minutes, preferably.

If color has gone into your nails beds, clip your nails or use lemon wedges to clean your nails.

So, follow these tips and I am sure you will have a wonderful Holi. Wish you all a very Happy Holi. Feliz Holi, todos!

Till then, ciao.

Loving / Using It Vol. 5 – Vaadi Herbals Nails and Cuticle Oil

Vaadi Herbals Nails and Cuticle Oil

Hey Guys!! I know I have been absconding for too long now. In fact, it has been almost one year since I have been more or less ignoring the blog 🙁 But, last three months have been a roller coaster ride with way too many changes in my routine! Will share all the details slowly with you.

And, in all of that mess, I totally ignored my responsibilities. This review has been so long pending that I am sure the brand people would have given up on me. But, I have been using this product since last two months. It is so portable, for one. So, lets check out why I like it.

Loving / Using It : Loving It

Vaadi Herbals Nails and Cuticle Oil

  • Price. Rs 55 for 10ml. Extremely affordable.
  • Travel-friendly. You can carry it in your travel bag or purse wherever you go and apply it whenever you want!! It does not even leak.
  • Easy to Use. Its roller tip makes it extremely easy to use and ensures a topical application.
  • Not Oily. It gets absorbed easily and does not leave any greasiness behind.
  • Smells fresh. Leaves behind a very refreshing lemongrass aroma.
  • Moisturizes really well. This product made my cuticles and nails so soft as opposed to any body cream I have used regularly. It also prevents the skin near the nails from peeling off.
  • Multi-purpose. The best part of this product is that you can use it for anything –  a hand cream or as a lip balm or even as an emergency moisturizer.
  • Ingredient List not specified. The one thing which I did not appreciate is that there is no list of ingredients written on the packaging. It only provides the active ingredient list.

Overall Verdict
I wish the brand had provided the entire ingredient list so as to make sure whether the product is completely herbal or not. But, the product is amazing and I would definitely recommend it to everyone.
