Price: Rs 220 for 200ml

Ingredients

Pros
  • light moisturizer, perfect for oily skin
  • smells really good
Cons
  • not meant for dry skin

My Experience
The first reaction to this product was that it smells soooooo good!!! Seriously. Not lingering but just a first whiff and some notes. Anyways, it is creamy in color but not so creamy in consistency. It is not a thick cream and spreads easily on the face. The one thing which I missed in it was moisturization. It is not a product for dry skin but it is perfect for combination and oily skin, especially, since summers have already arrived in Hyderabad.
It is a light moisturizer and doesn’t make the skin look oily at all. It gives a light dewy look to the face. And, you don’t really need a lot of it, either, so 200ml is gonna last pretty long. And, I really like the packaging of this product. It comes with a pump so its hygienic and since it’s a see-through, you know how much of it has gone.

Skin Care Essentials {Skin Care}

Swathy · January 22, 2012 · 4 Comments

Last week, I discussed about how a man’s skin differs from a woman. But, the skin care routine stays more or less the same for both the genders so let us discuss some points.

Good Cleanser
Using a good cleanser is very imperative to a clean skin. The cleanser should be mild and be able to clean out the dirt out of your pores. Using medicated cleansers presecribed by dermatologists is also an option.
Exfoliate
This is another carnal rule of skin care. You don’t want your pores to be clogged. So, exfoliate using gentle scrubbers which remove the dead skin easily and do not really tear the skin. Once a week is sufficient if you are using a really powerful scrubber but it can also be extended to twice a week depending on your usage of products and exposure to natural forces like pollution and sun.
Sun Protection
You don’t really want to look aged at any age, right? So, get a good sunscreen with adequate protection for yourself and slather it on before you venture out even if it is for 5 minutes or even for 2 minutes. Preferable, get a Zinc Oxide based sunscreen which is skin friendly and environment friendly too.
Wear Shades
Getting a good quality sun glasses which wrap around your eyes is a very good idea to protect your eyes from not only sun rays but also from letting the dirt and pollution inside the eyes. Don’t hitch to spend on a good quality shade.
Protect Hands
Hands again are important as they are continuously doing our work and come in contact with so many germs. So, it is our duty to keep them soft and healthy looking. Slather on a rich face moisturizer on your hands before you sleep. And, do not forget to use a moisturizer on hands after washing them every time.
Lip Care
Your lips are sensitive and do not have any sun protection. So, make sure you always slather on a good lip balm on your lips and it is even better if the lip balm comes with sun protection.
Facial Moisturizer
Again very important and easily ignored by many people, your skin needs a lot of moisture from outside as well. So, use a good moisturizer which suits your skin and keep it looking soft and healthy.
How do you take care of your skin?

Liz Earle Brightening Treatment Mask {Product Review}

Swathy · January 6, 2012 · 4 Comments

Price:13.50 Pounds (Rs 1200 approx) for 50 ml

Ingredients
Packaging

Everything came wrapped within the Zip pouch

Liz Earle knows the knack of how to make their customers feel special. So, there are no second thoughts about packaging – it is simple, classic and full of utility.

“In a nutshell”

Pros

  • Gives a beautiful glow to the face as if you have applied a foundation and leaves the face looking dewy and radiant
Cons

  • The effect stays for a very less time measured in a couple of hours
Wish List

  • I wish that the effects are more than temporary.

My Experience
I have been using this product since over a month and I have really worked hard to make it work.  Unfortunately, it doesn’t. It works for a very less time and that’s all there is to the product. I was thinking it would be path breaking but I would say that the Deep Cleansing Mask is amazing and does more than a cleansing job!!! I have tried using this in the morning everyday and for quick fixes and both times, I observed that the effect was temporary.

It leaves the skin soft and supple and plumped up and if you follow it with the Instant Boost Tonic, your skin will stay moisturized for a long time. And, your skin will look really radiant and dewy as if you have applied a foundation which matches your skin tone so well that it disappears into your skin color. But, this effect is probably an hour to a few hours long. And, that’s all.

When I tried keeping the mask for 2 minutes, the mask was not entirely absorbed and it looked as if the product is wasted than used and it didn’t do any good to my skin. Unlike the advise on the packaging, I keep the mask on for 15-20 minutes and the mask gets absorbed completely into the skin and then, I can wipe off the residue with the muslin cloth provided along with the mask. Keeping the mask for 15-20 minutes ensures that my skin absorbs all the goodness of the mask and it makes my skin hydrated and nourished which I really like.

The mask is creamy and easy to apply and two pumps are enough to cover the neck and face both. You would want to apply a very thin layer of the product so that it is absorbed into the skin properly and easily. Applying more of the product really gives no results and in case of Liz Earle, ‘less is really more’. The only thing I have to say is that I wish it had worked better.
