The Body Shop Spiced Vanilla Body Scrub

This is my first haul of The body shop and I got quite a few products in my stash now. For today, I shall be talking about the body shop spiced vanilla body scrub. So, let us start.

The Body Shop Spiced Vanilla Body Scrub Product Review

Price : Rs 875 for 200 ml (very expensive, though it seems normal now!!)

Let us start with smell. It just smells awesome – vanilla with a lot of hint of spice. The Body Shop Spiced Vanilla Body Scrub is creamy colored inclining towards brown due to cocoa butter and has a lot of spice and walnut shells. The walnut shells may feel harsh for the first time. I think sensitive skin should pass on. But, the second and third time were amazing with the scrub.

Using it after shower when the skin is thoroughly wet and warm, the butter gets absorbed well and moisturizes the skin from inside. And, the granules do not feel that harsh. The Body Shop Spiced Vanilla Body Scrub is extremely creamy and moderately thin in consistency so it keeps on sticking to the cap of the tub if it gets tilted or turned upside down.

The packaging of the scrub is a huge problem. Some of the scrub gets stuck in the screw grooves of the tub – both cap and the tub. And, when you try to take out the scrub, water will enter in the scrub if your hands are wet so that’s something one needs to be careful about.

I also think it does not last long enough. Though I use a product very generously, the scrub is nearly down by 1/3rd quantity only in 3 uses for whole body. For a regular user, this might last for probably 10 uses and that is stretching it a lot. This does make the scrub pretty expensive and out of budget for regular scrub users.

So, now coming to the best part of the experience, it is a fabulous body scrub. I applied the whole scrub on my body and kept on massaging for probably 2-3 minutes and then washed it off. My skin was so soft and smooth and well moisturized. I didn’t use any body lotion or anything just to see how well it keeps my skin. And, guess what, my skin was not at all dry for the whole day and even next day it was very little dry. Of course, its summers too so yes, the weather might have also contributed. And, my skin is soft even today though I used the scrub two days back.

So, if you use this in winters, you would need to apply a moisturizer which is a good thing considering lotions can make the skin pretty oily if its too hot or humid. I just wish it had been a little cheaper and lasted more or even either of the two. And, my advise to get the best of this product is to let it stay a good 10-15 minutes on your body while you are in the shower.

So, it’s your turn now …

From me, it is a definite yes! For the smell alone, you can give it a try and not to speak about its feel. So, tell me, have you used the body shop spiced vanilla body scrub? Did you like it? Which one is your favorite body shop body scrub?

    Hello there,

Nice review 🙂 and congrats on your first use of the brand body shop!…the body scrub sounds nice, but I agree – it is quite extravagantly priced. I generally use a face scrub on tough areas of the body too – somehow buying a separate body scrub again seems indulgent….but the fragrance and feel described sounds good 🙂

Hey Anamika 🙂 good to hear from you…yeah it is too expensive 🙁 if I really have to buy a body scrub I would go for biotique from now on….yest my fren took the walnut skin polisher from me and used it…it smelt so gud and almost gave the same effect and of course is a fraction of the cost and lasts a longggg time….this body scrub is definitely indulgent and even I would use it for special occasions…but yeah worth a try for once 🙂 discount zindabad….actually I didn’t buy anything from the shelves except 50% discount products….I so wanted to buy the monoi oil but backed out coz I would have saved only 15% on the product 🙁 I think they should improve their discount practices….and the other things I bought include only body and shower accessories which I am completely in love with…shall review them soon….
