Eyova Hair Nutrient with Egg Oil Product Review

After a very very long time, I came across an interesting product on the block. Well, we all already know that egg is amazing for hair but who knew there was something called Egg Oil. Check out what the website says about their product. So, let us directly check out how I liked the product!!

Other Particulars

  • Price: Rs 590 for (extremely expensive!)
  • Availability: Online Website
  • Packaging: Not really great! Comes in a flip top bottle and I am not really sure if it completely travel-friendly.
  • Smell: Ohk, this has to be one of the hugest problems with the product! I hate the smell. No, it is not the egg smell at all!! It is sickly sweet and very artificial. And, even the brand people assured me that they are working on improving it!!
  • Texture: The oil looks extremely dense but is not really that dense on touch. And, it is silky to touch. (last pic)
  • Usage: It is recommended to be used on scalp.
  • Results: Makes the hair extremely soft and leaves the scalp nourished after wash.
  • Ingredients: It mentions egg oil, canola oil and fragrance (shown in pic below).

    How I use the product?

As I mentioned, I hate the smell. What I recommend is mixing essential oils with it. I did not do that due to the review purposes. But, I highly recommend it. Now that we have this issue out of the way, lets get to how does the product perform!

Regarding ingredient clarification when I asked the brand, this was their reply: Yes Eyova has a mix of egg oil and canola. Egg oil is as high as 80-85%; canola oil is used only to make it easy to apply.  Well, I would have loved if it was almond or coconut or even olive oil in its place, though!

The oil has to be applied only on the scalp so I did that and obviously it is too expensive to use on the entire hair length! Well, I have to say that you might go on using this product because it just does not end up getting oily. The product either gets absorbed too quickly or is extremely dry (as in like a dry oil, not the skin dryness).

Well, I would not really comment on the hair growth part as I am not too sure about it. But, if I recollect, I had been facing hair fall issue back in November which seems to have gone away now! So, may be it is due to this product considering I did not do anything else specifically for it!! But, what I love most is that it actually makes the hair roots extremely soft and since the oil is silky to touch, massaging with it feels really soothing on scalp!

And, one more thing is it is supposed to work for gray hair as well which I had planned to test out on Mr. P but since he was mostly away on client location, I could not do that. But, this is what the brand said about gray hair and the product: Yes it works for premature hair graying. So your husband can try it as well. You don’t have to apply the oil across the length of the hair (even if you do its safe so don’t worry). It’s primarily scalp massage oil that works on hair follicle level so ensure a good scalp application. The hair grows ½ inch every month, so kindly keep that in mind while checking for results for graying.

    My Recommendation

One problem with the product is that it is definitely expensive and one bottle of 50ml would probably last (if used miserly) only 6-8 times!! For me, I would say I need one bottle every month. But, yes, I would definitely recommend the product. It is different than others in the market and definitely worth a try!!

So, what do you think? Would you like to try out this product? Or, are you allergic to eggs? Btw, I have to tell ya that this product is also for the people who are allergic to eggs so yes you can use it! So, do try it out and let me know if you like it.

    5 Steps to combat an impending Migraine {Health}

    Swathy · January 5, 2015 · 2 Comments

    Tags : Home >> Health
If you have been a regular reader here, you would already know that I suffer from mild migraines and I have tried almost everything to overcome them and prevent them. With a good diet, I had been able to successfully ward them off in the last month of December but, unfortunately, I have had the first bout of mild headache this year.
In fact I have had two bouts already but these steps worked only once. These were helpful when I had a throbbing sensation in the head indicating the impending migraine but not when I woke up with a headache in the morning. So, why do you wake up with a headache is a separate topic for discussion.

Have a proper Meal and drink lots of Water

Anyways, so let us start with the impending migraine scenario. So, whether you feel like eating or not, eat a proper balanced diet and make sure it consists of proteins and fibre, both!! Also, drinks lots and lots of water. Many times, a headache can be due to dehydration. Do check out other reasons for headaches.

    Take a mild Medicine

Well, I do not really advocate medicines at all times but headaches are an exception. I do not think twice while taking it. But, if you belong to the category of waiting it out, I would suggest using a headache balm or lavender or peppermint or eucalyptus essential oil. Eucalyptus works wonderfully for me!!

    Take Steam

And, then, follow with taking steam for 10-15 minutes. Your headache can be due to sinusitis congestion and muscle tension. Steam relieves the congestion and tension, both. And, relaxes you a bit.

Try to eliminate toxins from your system

Another very funny method to relief from impending headache is to visit the washroom. Yup, drinking excess water will help you eliminate toxins from your system. Also, a good bowel movement this time would help you relieve the constipation, in case your headache is due to that reason.
Also, one of the easier ways is vomiting. Generally my migraines are accompanied by nausea. And, vomiting cleanses the entire system relieving you of nausea and gradually from headache.

Lie down in a dark room

And, the final step is to lie down in a quiet dark room. Even if you are not feeling sleepy, a nice doze will help you relax.
So, these are the 5 steps to get rid of an impending migraine. But, I would again say this that these steps help only in some cases of headaches. To combat all sorts of headaches, we have to first diagnose what type of a headache is it and what is the cause.

Now is your turn to share your tips to combat an impending headache or migraine? Do you use any medicine or essential oil to get rid of headaches? Or, do you simply sleep it off? Do share in the comments below! And, do not forget to join me at 12:00 PM tomorrow on facebook on a small discussion on “Fitness Resolutions and Health Routines.” See you there!

    Why Hair Tangles – Reasons and How to Avoid? {Hair Care}

hair tangles and how to avoid
photo credit: josstyk via photopin cc

Once upon a time I used to face this problem. That was the good time of my hair but then my hair was dry and rough and extremely curly so they used to get tangled!! Climate had a lot to do with, though. But, the hair care regime could have solved the issue, had I known it then. Though I do not have the hair I used to, any more, hopefully these tips will help you. So, lets us see what all could be the reason for hair tangles.

    Climate and Clothes!

As I mentioned it above, this is the first reason why your hair might be tangled. The weather, especially when it is winters, can be extremely drying for hair. Also, the woollen clothes create a lot of static in the hair which ultimately leads to tangled hair and rough ends.
#Solution – Cover your hair in silk or satin scarf so that it does not get exposed to the cold and does not get tangled or dry!

    Dry Rough Hair

So, as I said dry and rough hair are most prone to tangles, no matter the length of the hair. Dry Hair suffers from lack of protein and nourishment. And, because of that it appears lifeless and has no shine!! Dry Hair can be genetic or even happen due to lack of care.
#Solution – Find out a good shampoo for Dry Hair, apply loads of Conditioner every time you shampoo and weekly Deep Conditioning treatments go a long way towards restoring healthy hair.

    Curly Hair

Well, curly hair and dry hair go hand in hand but even then this had to be a separate point. The follicle decides whether and how much your hair would be curly. Compared to straight hair, curly hair ranges from fine to thick and coarse textures and is more prone to dryness. Also, because of the curls, the hair gets tangled easily.
#Solution – Using the conditioning products and leave-in products to create well-defined curls which do not rub against each other causing friction and entangle with each other.

    Using Harsh Products

Now, why does your hair dry up? First is diet but the second most often reason is using the wrong products!! We all make those mistakes. So, it is good to start with finding out which products might suit you.

While I say this often that SLS/SLES products should be ditched, I would like to mention that this might not necessarily be the correct approach. Sometimes over the counter products suit us very well in which case it is always good to stick with the same product. Unnecessary experimentation of different products can also harm the hair.
#Solution – Next time you are getting a hair product, try to use a trial version to make sure it is suiting you. Also, get the products according to your hair type as curly hair or damaged hair need more conditioning where as colored hair shampoos are gentler on hair.

And, not following Good Hair Care Rules

Simplest answer to tangled hair can be not handling your hair properly. Too much flipping the hair, too much of combing or brushing or not combing at all, leaving the hair open all time, leaving hair open during bike rides or travelling, not covering hair in pollution, trying out intricate or unfriendly hair styles, using cheap and unfriendly hair accessories, all of them can lead to tangled hair.
#Solution – So, next time you fiddle with your hair, do remember that it can be bad for your hair and avoid it. Also, using a silk or sating pillow cover can do a lot in avoiding your hair to get rough or tangled or frizzy in the morning so follow healthy hair tips and get beautiful hair! Also, condition a lot.

So, now it is your turn. Do you have a hair prone to tangles? If so, what is your reason for it? Is your hair dry or curly or you use the wrong hair products? Or, may be you just fiddle around a lot with your hair? Do you think there are other reasons why your hair is getting tangled? If so, do share in the comment below. And, yes, do not forget to join me on fb for the Weekly chat on 6th Jan at 12:00 noon to discuss on “Fitness Resolutions and Health Routines”.
