Biotique Bio Clove Purifying Anti-blemish Face Pack for oily & acne prone skin {Product Review}

Swathy · November 15, 2013 · 8 Comments

Biotique Bio Clove Purifying Anti-blemish Face Pack for oily & acne prone skin Product Review
I have always voted up for Biotique face packs and this one is no different. I love the color and the texture of the product. Its a bit grainy and goes smoothly over damp skin as all other face packs do. Btw, do you remember the tip that anything gets absorbed better on damp skin – moisturizer, serums or face packs!

Pros
leaves the skin smooth and a bit radiant
does help with tan and blemishes but only just so
suits dry skin as well in summers
can not find any con per se

The mask takes a good 15-20 minutes to dry off if you have applied a thick layer. Removing the mask is not really easy just like other masks but using a wash cloth made it little better. Also, make sure that the wash cloth is soft enough otherwise you can end up harming your skin.

After removal, one can see a little brightening of the face. Over the course of time if you use it, it helps with blemishes but it does help with tan. Also, the mask can be used daily as well but in such a case, the mask should be kept till it is just dry and washed off so that you do not have to scrub it off the face. Everyday scrubbing is not good!

Ingredient List

Also, whether it helps with acne or oily skin is something I can not comment on but yes it does suit dry skin unless you are using in winters which I did not do so I have no idea how it fares in dry weather. But, overall, I would say it is worth a try and easily available.
Price: Rs 199 for 85 gms

Week 5 Updates {Bridal Files} – Part II

Swathy · November 11, 2013 · 1 Comment

Contd from yesterday’s post…

This was all on Saturday. Again the hunt started on Tuesday, Monday being holiday for all Delhi markets! We started from Amar colony market which is opposite to Lajpat nagar central market. Huge mistake! If you need a decent lehenga in any material except net, this is NOT the place for you.
It took me trial of few pieces to understand I would prefer lehengas in crepes and chiffons. They look more elegant. There was one shop with the name of MCJ (second shop in the first left after you enter the market) which had decent designs worth checking out!!
After wasting 2 hours in that market, we went to Lajpat central where we went to Malhotra’s. It was the first shop in the line and it was where I found some of the decent designs. They had crepes and chiffons but unfortunately I did not like the material quality a lot.
And, then, I found IT waiting there in golden tissue with pink border with a sprinkling of orange in the border and a very pretty dupatta in pink. Its a complete gotta and jerry zari (didn’t know it was called zari not jerry :D) work. And, I totally loved it when I tried it on. It has a orange brocade un-stitched choli which I have given to my tailor. I have asked her to make the back completely dori wala and three inches longer than the regular blouses. The best part is the lehenga looks awesome even in the natural light, not only under the chandeliers. A perfect wear for both night and day. I am gonna take the dupatta saree style and I am thinking of getting loose curls with a bump on the crown. Can you suggest any different hair style?
A tip if you go to Lajpat : Bargain till the end of your breath!!

And, I got a lace with small latkans in gold and silver combo which my mom has stitched on the breadth side of the dupatta to make it look more bridal-y. She skipped the length coz we do not take the dupatta on the head and it would look really heavy that way!

Miscellaneous Shopping
The only extra shopping I did was getting a chooda. I have always dreamed of wearing a chooda for my wedding. I know we have to wear gold so I do not know how will I really manage with so many bangles. Guess I will have to get rid of some of the chooda parts for different ceremonies. Lets see.
I have no idea where is the market for choodas actually. Someone suggested a shop in Babu Khan market in Sarojini with the name of chacha. Some one said Chandni Chowk is a great place for that as well but since I did not have the time or patience for either, I went to the Malviya nagar market which is closer to my house and there I got a good quality chooda, may be a bit expensive, at Manbhavan store. The uncle over there looked decent.
This is my summary for the week and lets see how the subsequent week goes. I am leaving Hyderabad on Wednesday so I will be offline for almost half a month. I will try my best to schedule a few posts. Also, we have decided to proceed to Singapore because of the scarcity of time.
I know many of you have asked for snaps so yup I shall try not to feel too conscious and put up some of the snaps once I am back. I also know that the engagement post was sadly lacking due to no pics but that was coz I posted it from Delhi and my laptop was sitting in Hyd.
So, see you all on 1st December hopefully. Till then drop all the good wishes and looking forward to more comments to answer. Yes, I am aware that I have not replied to any comment since 4th September to be precise so I do have a uphill task after I am back! Awaiting the comments eagerly 🙂

Week 5 Updates {Bridal Files} – Part I

Swathy · November 9, 2013 · 1 Comment

So, week 4 which was after the engagement was pretty quite. I was just busy packing the stuff for Delhi, dating my fiance and sleeping. Nothing much. Things picked up pace again when I landed in Delhi.

OMG, it was such a hectic week and I so hate Delhi after Diwali. The atmosphere was so polluted and it aggravated my dry cough and I am so tired of doing coughing all day long 🙁 Any ideas to get rid of it? Anyways, so we did lehenga hunting and saree shopping in Delhi apart from bit of miscellaneous things!
Saree Shopping
We went to South Ex on Saturday to get some jewellery basically but we ended up entering Rasi Silks which is in the beginning on Part – II. It is basically a Tamil saree store and has a decent variety of stuff. Their silk scarves are just amazing though definitely pricey!
I got a Kanjeevaram in mango yellow and maroon. Mom wanted something traditional. And, a pink saree which has two or three colors so basically it is a shaded saree. Actually, I do not even know the names of the cloth material of the sarees otherwise would have specified it. Another saree is in yellow with green thread work all over and it is very very pretty. The border is just striking.
The ranges of the sarees over there is pretty good. They have decent collection for even 400 bucks so if you need sarees for some people who are not very close and you do not want to spend much, it is a place to check out. They also have kerela saree collection. The ground floor of the shop is worth checking out as well. Also, they have bit of lehenga sarees. This was finally when I came to know what a lehenga saree is!
And, that concludes my shopping for sarees. I still have to go for saree hunting with my in-laws. They had asked me to pick a few and the rest, they will buy with me!
The Lehenga Hunt!!
Ok, hats off to all the brides who actually go for lehenga hunting and designing and spend weeks and months in search of THE ONE! I got bored in just one trip. I had been clamoring to go to Frontier Raas since Day 1. And, finally, I thought I will get my lehenga over there.
Since lehenga is not the main tradition at all, my dad was pretty reluctant and re-usage of the piece is a huge issue so I had decided I would not cross 20k for it. So, when I entered the second floor of Frontier Raas, I was bowled and confused by the excess glitter and thought I am way out of budget here 😀
Finally, I searched for some really light lehengas. Most were in crepes or chiffons and my heart went out to the pink and yellow lehenga with belt on top and border at bottom (pink and yellow are different lehengas, not the same).
But, the awesomest piece was a navy blue lehenga with threadwork all over and with a red and gold border which was extremely light and at the same time looked awesome. It was 50k and my parents were downright no for it 😀 Ok, not that I was jumping for it. Later, my dad said it was looking a bit old and not like it was 50k, even though he loved the border. I had to accept that argument, though! So, it was good bye to Raas then.
Rest of the lehenga story would continue tomorrow 🙂 Hope you are eager for the story!
