Ok, sorry for that heading!!! I couldn’t think of anything else. There is one thing which I have observed and would like to share. One of the habits of people who are older and having beautiful skin and hair is that they swear by their products or remedies they use. And, they do not change their products. I know its something which seems very simple for them because they never had so many products to choose from or neither were there so many temptations in their time. But, their faithfulness to one type of product keeps their skin in its best condition. I came across one post in which the girl was raving about her mom’s skin (I forgot the post otherwise I would have linked it) and her mom had been using a Lotus Herbals product for many years now. Similarly, my mom has remained faithful to her moisturizer for more than 15 years and her skin is awesome!!! I do agree that newer skin care ranges provide more benefits but probably changing the brands quickly does take a toll on the skin. That’s something to think about!!!

Hello Swati,
It could be true to great extent and i too go by this stance now. My great example is my mom. Trust me…she is so faithful with vicco products, and she doesnot apply anything other than this. I have seen her since i was young, she uses Vicco turmeric ayurvedic cream (it ws bit expensive then and somewhere in the middle it was discontinued as well) she did not change at all….she used to get them hook or crook. Her skin is much younger than me…she doesnot have one strand of grey hair…no wrinkles, no uneven spots. Can you beleive it. She doesnot use cleanser, toner..sunscreen..nothing at all. She washes her face with besan mixed with haldi…and at times i hv seen her massaging with milk cream or mostly used lemon and once or twice in a day…vicco cream on the face. thatz it…she doesnot have open pores too…she always advises me not to use many products as the more chemicals you try on your skin it hampers the structure!!! So true.

hi Dhanu…good to see you after a long time 🙂 yeah even my mom scolds me for using hoards of products and she always says why can’t you stick with one thing only!!! yeah vicco was discontinued in the middle and I remember hating that cream coz it was so oily and thick and it smelled awful but many people used to use it during 90’s!!! so many classic products and now everything has changed!!!

Hi Swati. After reading this post, i m also thinking about my mom’s beautifully long hair. She can swear by keo-karpin oil.And her skin is also very good, which she credited to Vaseline petroleum jelly. I know many will not agree for petroleum jelly, and i will also say the same. But for my mom its her holy-grail…. If you ask me,I can swear by coconut oil n olive oil for hair and vaseline body lotion(aloevera is my fav).I was thinking about changing these products, but your post changed my mind. 🙂 Bye-the-way what are your holy-grail products?
swati says
hey Monali…that’s so true you know…my hair looked awesome when I was using keokarpin but now I am regularly changing coz I am not satisfied with any and yeah for people who are used to petroleum jelly, it really works for them I know coz my mom is also very loyal to it for her hands and feet especially in winters!!! ah my holy grail…you know I really would have to think and then answer….guess I will definitely write a post on that!!! have to think though!!!

Hi swati.Ya,it would be a nice idea to make a post about your HG products,we will love to read it. 🙂
And,one thing about keokarpin is,it makes hair a lil bit more brownish but not black, that’s why i didnt use it after my schooling days,as my hair is already bownish black,i don’t want to make it more brown than it already is.

oh…is it??? I never noticed that!!! my hair is also brown….
