How to start investing your money?

It is a euphoric feeling when you get your first salary in hand. The financial independence comes with a lot of freedom and lot of lessons. The first lesson is how not overspend and to learn financial planning. I remember when I had gotten a job during the last semester of my engineering, my mom had started to educate me on financial literacy. Whew! It felt like I had entered an adult world.

Today, this information is much more easily available at our fingertips, thanks to Quora and other finance websites. I really like how people share their investment tips and knowledge for the beginners. So, I thought I would share a bit of my knowledge though I hardly know a lot about mutual funds and share markets. So, let’s see what I have.

Create a Budget

This might take you a few months to figure out depending on your living conditions and expenses incurred. Always start with listing out your expenses from the first month itself. You can always add to the list later if you do not anticipate something. This will give you an idea of how much you need to spend towards your living expenses.

Divide Your Income

Depending on the budget created, you can create divide your income into expenses, savings, investment options and luxury segments. Always create the habit of saving before spending. Howsoever little you might be earning (if you are doing internship), you can always save 5-10% of your salary barring the living expenses. If you are earning a decent salary (say above 20k), lock 20-30% of the amount every month depending on your budget.

True Elements Make My Muesli Grainy Mix

Do you like having breakfast? What do you like for your breakfast? I love a huge breakfast but I hate to make one for myself. Who wants to slave in the kitchen the moment you get up, right? And, I want my breakfast right away. Thus, my fallback option is cereals. True Elements Make My Muesli is a lovely concept which makes it easier for me to choose what combination of cereal do I want.

Cereals have always been my friends though I know the high sugar content do not make them as desirable breakfast options as we would like them to be. So, when I got to know about this interesting customizable cereal from True Elements, I was definitely curious. And, I have to mention here that I am not really a big fan of muesli. You have to keep on chewing it and it takes ages for just one morsel!!

True Elements Make My Muesli Grainy Mix

Price : Rs 315.50 for 400gms

Availability : Online Website

Let me start with the packaging. As you can see, it comes in a cylindrical cardboard carton, the muesli being packed in the regular aluminum packs. The one I got was grainy mix with goji berries, cranberries, hazelnuts and pumpkin seeds. It supposedly has honey in it as sweetener but I am not sure how do they put it in a dry mix. The cereal was hardly sweet.

All about Facial Oils!

Updated from 22nd September, 2013. If you have been following me for a long time, you would already be aware that I love facial oils. I have tried the carrier oils and the blended ones both and the best one till date was the grapeseed oil. I used one from soulflower but I am sure it would be the same in any brand. So, if you are looking for a good moisturizer or night cream, I would definitely suggest the grapeseed oil.

I love oils. In fact, so much so that I would love to own all the apothecaries in the world! And, recently again, due to improper care my skin started to look and behave a bit weird so I thought I would go about giving it a good dose of care which does not ruin my easy life either. And, I have plethora of oils in my closet!! I will share the ones in my closet soon. But, everyone is skeptical when they hear the term. So, first thing, a facial oil can be used by all skin types. You just have to use the right one for your skin.

How to find the best oil for yourself?

Is your skin dry? Go for coconut oil. It has the fatty acids which instantly lift and plump up the skin and hydrate it from inside.

I am not sure of almond oil. Some say that the molecules are too big to penetrate the skin so it does not really cause breakouts. But, I have no history of breakouts so I can not really answer that. But, it is great for under-eye area.

Olive oil is something I will never really recommend for hair or body. I have heard quite a lot of complaints about it but many raves also but personally my preference is not that. It is a known comedogenic.
