Guest Post by Sheetal

It does not matter what hair type or scalp type you have, there are numerous hair care tips available today from which you can benefit. Be it the high humidity content in air which makes hair limp or the sweat and dust which cause frizziness and dandruff, your hair gets exposed to various elements. Taking steps to ensure that your hair remains in good quality is essential.

Cover up

Always! Be it even that 2 minute walk you have to take under the sun to commute to a place, always cover your head with a scarf or hat. This directly translates to added UV protection and also preventing your hair from getting tangled. Needless to mention, it also means your scalp not getting dry. There are sunscreens manufactured for hair to provide protection against sun and chlorine. Just ensure that that the one you chose has a light-weight texture and does not makes your hair sticky.

Anti-dandruff Shampoo

The outside pollutants can create havoc on the quality of your scalp. Even if you do not suffer from dandruff, it is always a good idea to use an anti-dandruff shampoo at least once a week to prevent it. Medical based anti-dandruff shampoos work best in controlling and preventing dandruff from occurring.

Restrict the amount of hair wash

If you have an oily scalp or oily hair, you will feel tempted to give your hair a rinse just about every day. But doing so will only worsen the condition of your hair. Not just you will lose more strands but will also make them dry and brittle. There are tricks to get rid of an oily scalp without going for a hair wash. Make use of dry shampoos that are widely available today. All you have to do is spray them onto your hair and then see the magic happening. They reduce the oiliness and add volume to hair. You can also dab cotton balls on your head soaked with witch hazel to absorb sweat and oil content.

Hot oil treatment

If there is one hair care tip that even celebrities swear by, it is indulging in a hot oil treatment to nourish their hair and providing them with the much needed nutrients. Giving your hair a hot oil treatment every 15 days can change their quality drastically. It is very simple to perform. You can use one oil or a concoction of three different oils. Heat them and give your hair a good massage for 10 minutes. Wash your hair after 2-3 hours. You can also use steam to let the oil penetrate better in the hair roots.

Turn down the heat

You know the scene: You have hit the snooze button umpteen times and then you finally get up realizing you have got late. You take a quick shower and reach for your blow-dryer.

It’s an almost daily situation. This daily routine of yours is causing too much hair damage. Your hair is already exposed to a lot of heat. Baring it to this artificial heat will only worsen hair problems like dryness, dandruff and hair fall.

Adopt these tips in your hair care routine for beautiful tresses!

If your hair is really dry, deep-condition at home. Apply conditioner to clean, damp hair; slip on a plastic cap and let your hair absorb for 30 minutes.
