Dare to Change: Get up 15 minutes early

Swathy · August 8, 2012 · 17 Comments

So, this is my second challenge for the month. And, trust me, I think I have jumped on the tougher bandwagon really early!! Coz, I am so lazy that getting up in the morning is literally a huge challenge for me. These days I am getting up at about 7:30 on average.

So, now, I shall try to get up at 7 sharp or latest by 7:15 AM

I know some of you might think that getting up at 7 is not exactly achieving a huge thing but yes, it is, for me!! I have been trying to do the same since like ages together. And, failed miserably every time. And, do check out the cartoon below 🙂
I could not NOT share this one with you 🙂
Btw, I am sure you guys might also be interested in how the first challenge is coming up? Well, to be honest, not really good coz this weekend I had moved and was busy with all that and really tired and then, yesterday and today, I came back from off at like 7 – 7:30 which is like really late for me.
So, all this is tiring me up coz I really do not get time to relax. And, if I can’t relax, its difficult to follow any routine. And, worst part is that I am not even able to take out time to write posts 🙁 And, yeah, I am struggling on it right now at 10 by which time I should be reading P.G.Wodehouse and preparing for my sleep. And, honestly, I do wonder how you guys with extremely hectic schedule really manage to take time for yourself and your blogs. Kudos to all of you 🙂
So, are you ready to join in for the second challenge and if you really took the first one, how did it go?

Im thinking of doing this as a project too. Currently I wake up at 8am. Will try 7:45 until I reach 7:00.

And yes, I get what you mean, 15 minutes may not sound a lot but for me it is.

WOW! If I woke up at 7 everyday, that’d be a miracle!

I wake up at 9 on average but it’s also because I usually sleep extremely late. In fact, I’m still working now and I just happened to see your update. My work is super demanding that when I explain it to other people, they feel like I’m killing myself… and I probably am? but I really enjoy what I do although I hope I can have more time for myself, of course.

See, I work about 6 days a week and usually more than 10-14 hours a day. During heavy deadlines, even longer. That is not exactly healthy, I know. Hopefully, in a few years’ time, I won’t have to work as hard and that I could just focus on what I love doing like blogging among a lot of other things.

haha…I don’t think you are doing anything wrong if you absolutely love your work….its better to get exhausted doing something you love than something you don’t!!! ask me that. yeah, few years down the line, things will change coz priorities will.

This post feels like a post directly written to me 😀 I am such a lazy gal, my company is only 5-10 minutes away from my home. But work starts at 07.45 am and I have to wake up at 7.00 but usually I find myself up around 7.20!! I am always late and this is a really bad habit, I might not join you in your first goal (my workplace in the 8th floor and I have an injured ankle ) but this one I will definitely join!!

    v cute cartoon 😀
I wake up daily @ 4am, and its a habit now.
once u start to wake up early or at a particular time then it becomes habit n u won’t b needing even alarm after that.
Also try 2 wake up b4 sunrise n feel the special energy at that time present in the atmosphere.
    Its v peaceful.
In Ayurveda the time between 4 and 6 a.m. is known as Brahma Muhurta or “Time of God”. It is believed that during this period the mind can easily concentrate on meditation, prayers, life goals or other activities 4 your personal growth

thanks 🙂 wow…4 is like way too early!! yeah, it is good to wake up at that time but then I won’t be able to do anything coz I would feel the hangover all day!! but, yes, once used to it, body gets used to those timings!!!
