My Hair Diary – July 2015

cysteine infusion reviews and hair color

So, I have already shared that I got my hair colored (though I have to say that the pic was blurred)! Let us see how my hair is doing after that.

And, yes, you should definitely check out Drishyam movie if you have still not! I have not seen the regional version of it but of course such characters are just written for Ajay Devgan in hindi movies and he has nailed it again 🙂 As usual, Tabu is a treat to watch!

Cysteine Treatment

So, it has been two months since my cysteine treatment. Okay, let me confess here. I did once did a set back on my hair by using another shampoo than the one prescribed to me and it DID spoil my hair. So, when I went back to using the regular deFab products which I have already reviewed, my hair went back to normal and was no longer bad!

And, then, a week later, I found time to visit my stylist and got my hair colored and scheduled an organic hair spa with Moroccan Oil products. Honestly, I am not very sure about the hair spa because I have not seen a dramatic difference for the price I paid! So, it was a bummer for me but then I have prepaid for 3 sessions and two more are left so I am kind of stuck with it.

Anyways, coming back to the cysteine, the hair spa and going back to the prescribed products made my hair as soft and silky and frizz free as it was in the starting days of the treatment. And, yes, you do have to take care of your hair even then. The only thing you can not do is oiling otherwise you can apply hair masks and wash it regularly and keep it gorgeous which takes a little maintenance.

And, even after two months, my hair is doing fairly well and I have not noticed any difference. Only I probably have to say that hair colouring might have dried up the hair a bit which means more conditioning or more maintenance.

Do I recommend it?

Honestly, only after 2 months is a little too early for me to recommend because the treatment is supposed to stay for at least 4-6 months which I am not yet sure. But, looking at the results right now, I am more likely to recommend it. I will say bear with me for 6 more months and I shall deliver my verdict 🙂

Hair Color

So, I got streaks on my hair. Okay, I have no idea what difference is between a streak and a highlight so do not ask me 🙂

The global color was from the Schwarzkopf essensity brand which is supposed to be organic and ammonia-free but I am not really sure how gentle it is on hair. And, the streaks were from the Show Stopping collection of Lakme called the Auburn Blend which I absolutely loved.

In fact, the red was exactly as I wanted and now I am already ready with my next hair color which I want to go for the plum family with dark black global coloring. Not sure, how it will work though 😀

Do I recommend it?

Hair Coloring is a personal choice and yes it is a chemical treatment so yes it does make your hair dry and high on maintenance and your color might not fare well with time. So, your hair might end up looking very dry and damaged. So, think well and get it done depending your hair color and condition.

Personally, I always have loved hair coloring so I went ahead with it. And, I am glad that reds are suiting me 🙂

Other Things

So, finally, I am off my blow drier and naturally drying out my hair so it is soft. And, my hair has turned so silky that it just keeps of slipping all the time!! And, since it is straighter and apparently I have oily scalp, my hair does get a bit greasy by second day I guess. So, my stylist said that twice a week washing of hair is fine but leaving it as it is for longer might lead to dandruff.

Even after all the chemical treatment, i have to say your hair looks so stunning and it’s an amazing color too. I like how honest you are about the treatment. it gives me a better grasp about what to expect if someone goes in for the same.
    thanks!

Thanks coral. Yeah, I am kinda double minded about the treatment so I am keeping the judgment reserved. No point saying no or yes straight away!

As I mentioned, it was a hair spa in the salon so I am not sure which products they used but you can guess it was color freeze shampoo and hair mask I guess since I have coloured my hair by the same stylist!!!

The more I see your hair posts, the more I’m loving the colour- though the purpley tones were more visible in the last pics!

hey Nayantara. actually the purple tone was never there. it was due to the bad pic, it looked a bit purple. otherwise, it was perfect red all time 🙂 btw, I am thinking of plum color for the next time 😀 I just hope my hair does not get fried!!

Hi Sonali. In a nutshell, I am loving the cysteine but hair cooling is a no. It has been 4 months and my hair is still doing fine and I think it all depends on how well you take care of your hair post the treatment. Also, I do not think it causes hair fall. I think my hair fall is due to the colouring which weakened my hair and made it brittle but when I had done cysteine, my hair was doing fine!

    Hey Swati.
Now, I have a lot of issues with my hair. After reading your posts, I feel like getting a Cysteine Infusion done. The last time I went to get a haircut, my stylist suggested the same. I wanted to know if you faced any hair fall issues. My hair is curly and dense. I haven’t undergone any hair styling treatments yet. It would be a great help if you could tell me if it causes a great deal of hair fall. Thanks! 🙂

hi Sayukta. sorry, I could not get back earlier! did you get it done finally?

if not, no I did not face any hair fall after cysteine. and, honestly, after this long, I am kind of thinking to get it done again. it really helps to curb frizz. think about it and get it done by someone who does it well. yes, one thing, make sure you are not going out for a day or two after you go for it. they apply the treatment and leave it in hair for 2 days and then wash off the hair.
