The Ordinary Marine Hyaluronics

The Ordinary Marine Hyaluronics

Have you ever come across a product which is just plain water? Apart from floral waters and mists, of course. Well, the ordinary’s marine hyaluronics is one such product. I was looking for something hydrating to be added in my skin care and this was the better option from the brand so I picked it up.

The Ordinary brand has received loads of buzz in the recent times thanks to its extremely low price range and equally diverse product range. It comes from the umbrella of Deciem, the niche beauty brand which believes in serious skin care. Now, does marine hyaluronics fall in that category?

My Experience

The Ordinary’s marine hyaluronics is just water and it is a struggle to apply the product. It is colorless and it does not really smell so good but the smell dissipates almost immediately on application so it is not much of a bother.

Interestingly, your skin becomes too oily and shiny also when it is dehydrated.

The product comes in a bottle with a dropper. I started with applying 3-5 drops initially but in summers my skin was becoming too oily and shiny. Then, I modified my routine to 10 drops of the product. Thereafter, I started noticing a significant increase in hydration levels. And, other products would get better absorbed into the skin.

The Ordinary Marine Hyaluronics

I managed to finish the product in two months with regular day and night usage of almost 5-10 drops a day. My skin is better hydrated and looks glowing most of the times. The major difference was visible for me in the photographs. Skin definitely looks way better and the pigmentation has also reduced over the course of last two months though I would not say marine hyaluronics is solely responsible. But, then, I did not do much else for my skin either.

Overall, I would say it is a good addition to your skin care routine as the first step since it improves hydration and allows better absorption of other products. More or less, I found it to serve the purpose of a toner / mist. It is a decent product but if I add in the cost of ordering the product and paying customs, it becomes rather expensive for what it does!

Have you tried out any of The Ordinary’s products? How do you like them?

I too have the same thoughts on The Ordinary products. If they are available in India, its worth a try. But paying so much for shipping and customs is not worth it, I feel..

so true, Archana and honestly I have used other products as well but I am not much impressed! I would rather stick to our ayurvedic and other products 🙂
