Nivea Sun Light Feeling Daily Face Sun Fluid 50+ Very High {Product Review}

Swathy · August 5, 2013 · 2 Comments

Nivea Sun Light Feeling Daily Face Sun Fluid 50+ Very High {Product Review}

PS: There are no pros and cons in this review!

Actually, I am very good at adjusting with products. I never really end up hating anything but I do feel very disappointed when I use a product and I am not happy with it!! Doing a review while not bashing up the product entirely is a tricky situation. Anyways, you might as well have guessed that this is one of those products!

So, let me start with the claims and packaging. The biggest claim of this product is the instant sun protection as compared to the other chemical sunscreens which need a 20-minutes incubation period on the skin before they start protecting you.
Honestly, I have no idea about the formula and anyways I am not a chemist so I will not talk about that. The problem which I have with this product lies more in the application part.

It says a few drops would suffice. Now, in all of my knowledge of sunscreen, it takes quite a lot of product for adequate protection. So, this claim was a bit difficult to digest. I, however, tried to use the regular quantity. And, my face was like a pan of oil.

I am guessing that the base of this sunscreen is basically oil because if I do not shake the bottle, a transparent solution comes out which feels oily. So, its probably an unstable emulsion. Whatever it is, it really does not get absorbed into the skin and makes the face really oily which is a huge disappointment.
I tried using only a few drops which also did not bode well for my face. That was fine for my hands, though. But, then, I have doubts about how much it really protects. And, re-application is a forgettable job.

As to protection, honestly I have not used the product for more than a week overall because I could not bear the oiliness so I can not really comment on the protection aspect. And, I do feel very guilty about that but I couldn’t just do it. I will keep the product for now and will give it a try again when my skin goes dry in winters.

Price: Rs 449 for 50ml

How do you feel about the products you end up disappointed with? How do you manage to review them?
PS: Product sent by brand for consideration.

Just Gossip Vol. 21 – Do you zoom your photos?

Swathy · August 4, 2013 · 6 Comments

Ok, so yesterday I was clicking or rather trying to click the photographs of my hair for hair diaries and in the mean time, the lighting being really good, I clicked some of my snaps. And, then, when I started looking at the photographs, I literally zoomed in!
I have never really bothered about doing that till day but yesterday I was probably getting too bored. Anyways, I was just criticizing and checking out how my skin was looking and how many blemishes and dark spots my skin had.
Ok honestly I have to admit that my face was in pretty good shape except some of the blemishes which will fade on their own but when I took the snap (which I specially did for investigative purposes) of my neck, it was in a horrible condition 🙁

I have a bad habit of skin picking and I can see the effects. The skin on my neck does look tortured and all so I have resolved that I would not do anything harmful for my skin!! Lets see how much I am able to keep it up. Sometimes, I start bothering it unconsciously so I will have to keep a track of things as and when I am doing and stop those habits which are bad.
What about you? Have you ever taken a snap just to check out how your skin is? Do you zoom into your snaps?

mint-o-ultramintz Sugar Free Mints {Product Review}

mint-o-ultramintz Sugar Free Mints {Product Review}

Well, I have to start with the personalized packaging. It is so amazing! I was impressed with its packaging when I found the small box lying in the luxurious satin! You can always reuse the packaging for your jewelery. And, the smaller box containing the mints is very practical and hygienic since one doesn’t have to expose all the mints while taking one and there is no wrapper business or anything else to take care of!

After popping one of these pellets, I liked it! But, the chill pill which they talk about comes only when you take 4-5 at least together. Then, I felt those close up ads would so suit this product but the only difference is when the guys opens his mouth to let the girl feel the freshness of his breath, the girl should probably be covered under layers of snow instead! Yes, 4-5 mints collectively have the power of an arctic tundra. And, if you drink water over it, its like an avalanche in your throat 😀 (ohk, I know I am exaggerating but hey isn’t the idea of ad a little too much?)

Anyways coming back to the product, it says it has premium quality peppermint imported from France. Well, I do have peppermint essential oil and the mint smells exactly the same. In case you are wondering, no. The essential oil I have is not imported as far as I am aware unless kama actually does that! But, you get the gist, right?

mint-o-ultramintz Sugar Free Mints {Product Review}

Jokes apart, I did like the mints. They give a very fresh feeling for a long time. And, I love flicking the cover of the box. It’s very Victorian, the only difference being the English used to carry snuff in the snuff boxes and we carry mints 😉 Aah and each box has around 60 pellets so you are good to go for around a month without bothering to refill! Easily portable as it should be and you can keep multiple with you – one in your car, one in your purse and one beside your bed stand.
And, I have to add the point that I hate chewing gums to freshen up my breath because they have a lot of sugar and after all sugary juice is over, it leaves a very nasty taste in the mouth! And, then, you have to remove the gum from the mouth and throw it which is like really gross! But, guess what, this mint is sugar-free. Anyways, I am not easily satisfied with such claims so I researched the ingredients (yeah, ok, I checked out the wiki!).

mint-o-ultramintz Sugar Free Mints {Product Review}

Ingredients
Sorbitol, Magnesium Stearate and Sucralose

Sorbitol – is generally used in all sugar-free gums!
Magnesium Stearate – It creates the tablet.
Sucralose – is an artificial sweetener and does not broken down in the body leading to no added calories!
So, at the end, I would just like to add that excess of these mints is really not good because for one, you should not depend on any product and for second, the ingredients do lead to a bit of complication if there is an overdose of the mints in the body.
What do you say? Have you tried these mints?
