How to apply conditioner? {Hair Care}

Swathy · March 6, 2012 · 8 Comments

Conditioner is something unavoidable when it comes to hair care. And, I hae scores of them in my closet so I am striving to finish them off. So, last week, when I was applying my conditioner, suddenly a thought occurred to me is there was a particular way of applying a conditioner just like there is a correct of way of shampooing.
How do I condition my hair?
Ok, first of all, I do not ever carry my comb into the bathroom to distribute the conditioner evenly on the hair. Why? My hair is wet and I can never comb that much wet hair. I have never ever tried to do so as well.
I take conditioner on my palm and rub both the palms to spread the conditioner evenly and then rub the palms on to my hairs from ears down. I do not go near the scalp. But, when I am rubbing the hair with my palms, to be sure, I don’t really feel comfortable. When we rub the hair together, friction is produced and electricity is caused which creates more split ends and flyaways.
Improved method of conditioning
So, yesterday, what I did was that I took a little of the conditioner on to my palm and spread it evenly between both the palms and simply ran my hand through the hair. No rubbing at all. I took a little bit more of the conditioner and ran it through the ends again. No Comb at all. And, I am hoping that this would be a better way to apply the conditioner in the future.
What do you say?

      but, Riddhi, don’t you feel sometimes that the conditioner adheres only to one part and no evenly distributed…that’s what makes me rub a little but I really want to get rid of the habit!!!

      hey Fatima…yes, hair serums should also be applied below the ears and if you need some management and have bangs, then you can apply it to the ends of the bangs but don’t go near the scalp. generally, I prefer using serums on wet hair only as they lock in the moisture but they can also be applied on dry hair.

    Yes I feel the same the way you think about the hair conditioning for hair care
    .We can care of our hair with the help of conditioning but we improve the conditioning method I took a little of the conditioner on to my palm and spread it evenly between both the palms and simply ran my hand through the hair. No rubbing at all. I took a little bit more of the conditioner and ran it through the ends again. No Comb at all. And, I am hoping that this would be a better way to apply the conditioner in the future. Parachute hair oil therapy is best for hair care

    Actually to mention the truth, your hair isn’t alive any more than a piece of fabric is. Your hair is literally alive but to believe that it is actually alive is dangerous to the health of your hair. Because hair is actually like a fabric once it has left your scalp. When your hair is damaged, it stays damaged. There is nothing inside the hair shaft that can repair itself as skin does, just as a towel’s fibers can’t repair themselves. What’s done is done. Conditioners can temporarily coat your hair to make it feel nice and smooth, but that’s it. People who tell you that their products can “repair” or “heal” your hair are misleading you. Only living things can heal. How can a conditioner repair your hair? By gluing it back together where it’s broken? Magically re-creating new fiber to patch up the broken parts while you’re using it in the shower? So the bottomline is use mild shampoos, eat healthy, avoid getting the elements into your hair and do not treat conditioners as a magical fix-it! – Dr. Sunita Banerji (Hair Expert at http://www.eternesseclinic.com)
